Dale Vince is on a mission to get Britain greener. The eco-entrepreneur and acitivist has pledge to plant 50 trees every time a Brisish football match ends 0-0!

The entrepreneur and owner of Forest Green Rovers- (a suitable name for the ‘the greenest football club in the world’ has already started the drive and is part of the Daily Express’s Green Britain Needs You campaign to get the nation greener.

‘Planting Trees is an essential part of building a greener Britain’.

He goes on to remind us that we have lost many of our forest over the past 100 years and with them the wildlife that depends on them.

The campaign will see 50 trees planted after all professional football matches with no-goals scored. Making sure that there will be at least one green winner no matter what the score. The scheme will count English Division games, Scottish professsional leagues and Women’s Super leagues.

Drinks brand Innocent have also come onboard with the Rovers and together they have already commited to planting 6,350 trees following an impessive 127 nil-nil games in just one season – but this number is set to reach even further heights with an anticipated 10,000 trees!

Rover’s football club is a green inspiration, it became the world’s first vegan football club in 2005, aims to become carbon neutral by 2040 and is powered by wind and solar energy generated by Dale Vinces’ firm Electricity.
